Traditional Thai massage is an ancient healing art that originated in India over 2500 years ago. It was created by Dr. Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, who was a physician to the Buddha and his sangha. He was a master in Ayurvedic medicine, yoga and Buddhist meditation. Techniques are comprised of deep compression along energy lines, acupressure, gentle stretching and assisted yoga postures to balance and increase the flow of Qi within the body. It is very effective for treating a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, from acute disorders to chronic pain. A typical session lasts 90-minutes and is performed fully clothed on a floor mat.
